The brand spanking new single was released a few hours ago, as I said in my review of the album Babel, Lover of the Light was truly a magnificent song which can only be justified by such an jaw dropping music video featuring Idris Elba. Watch the music video first and I will give my thoughts on it afterwards.




What strikes me on the song and music video is the emphasis on the word Light, cleverly intended to be something that the actor can not see but still manages his daily routine. Even in the short span of the odd 5 minutes the video captivates you in the world of a blind man in a breathtaking beautiful landscape in which he has no boundaries.
What we can take from this song and brilliant music video is that, we tend to see too much from our eyes and too little from our heart.

Facebook has become more of a tool, rather than a fun place to socialize with all your “friends” and
 family. The only things that make Facebook useful to me now are: “remembering” birthdays, inviting
 people to my parties (because, fuck calling) and using it to store photos, so that I have more space on my hard drive for the important things… like porn.

Now look I get it, you want to support some cause, or bring attention to something, and you are free to do so. But, If you share something on my wall, such as a picture of some religious figure, behind a message saying “If you love… click like, and then share.” and then in the same picture, it says something like “keep scrolling if you want to ass-rape a homeless guy”, I will come to your house and drown you in the blood of your adorable pets! (not really, but I will send you a strongly worded letter!)

I’m really glad you’re enjoying Farmville… I truly am (not really). However, when you feel the need to invite every single person on your friends list, to go “fertilize” your “crops”; go look at yourself and understand just how pathetic you are. That goes for anyone sending out completely pointless requests to games/apps. Here’s a helpful bit of information to the people who spam my notifications with birthday app requests; you do realize that you can see everyone’s birthday in your “events” tab, right? And yes, I know I can change which notifications I get and how often I get them, but that would take away the fun of teaching you people some Facebook etiquette.

Okay before you freak out; I don’t hate people updating their status. Updating your status is what you’re supposed to do on Facebook. However, status updates should be kept at a maximum of three a day. I honestly don’t need to know that you just took the best dump EVER, and how you proceeded to wipe with a cactus branch… The sheer quantity of updates I can live with, but when you start desperately begging for attention by posting things like “I’m so lonely” or “I wish I wasn’t this ugly, so people would like me!” you are just asking to be ridiculed. I get it, you obviously have some deep-seeded issues, but for fuck sake; keep your craziness to yourself! (Like the rest of us)

The Japanese have always been seen as a very reserved, and generally chilled out people. And I’ll be the first to admit; I’m a huge fan of anything Japanese… However, it seems the tighter the rules are, the crazier the people get. In such a reserved society, people need to be able to express themselves somehow. But in this music video, it’s hard to tell if “Kyary Pamyu Pamyu” (the artist) is trying to express herself… or, is high out of her floating skull.

Her video called “PONPONPON” has 39 million views as I’m writing this… That’s a whole lot of stoned people on YouTube. Apparently the entire video took just 24 hours to shoot, and is also her first music video. She’s a fucking natural! The videos’ director says he wanted to combine the idea of “a room of a girl who isn’t good at tidying up” and “a taste of the 60-70s”. Now, I wasn’t around in the sixties or seventies, but if it looked at all like this video, then hell; where’s my time-machine!?
The video is filled with a whole bunch of insanity; eyeballs being thrown up, a great-colorful-shark and a girl farting a variety of colors…

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love this video, and even though I don’t understand a single word of the song other than “you make me happy” I think it’s pretty damn catchy. The lyrics are apparently full of hidden meaning… since I don’t speak Japanese, I’ll just take their word for it. Still, I’m not sure what deep meaning “pon, pon, way, way, way” has, but it must be mind-blowing.
